Sustainable practices have always been part of our operating philosophy. The Sigma Group understands that the best sustainable solutions are not just environmentally responsible. That's why we continue to challenge ourselves and our clients to lead the thought process in adopting high performance standards that are both ecologically responsible and favorable to the bottom line.
Our commitment to sustainability shows... as well as our expertise in environmental restoration. Our corporate building not only features many green building aspects, but its design complements and has helped revitalize the historical, industrialized community where we're located. The challenges were many: contaminated soil, methane generation and maintaining the flavor of the neighborhood to name just a few. Solution included brownfield restoration, specialized storm water management, reintroducing plants natural to the area and beneficial reuse of materials for a unique foundation. The building is designed to be highly energy efficient. Its brick veneer and other materials were selected to blend with the area's industrialized look.
Our work on our corporate building earned The Sigma Group the Mayor's Design Award, which recognizes design excellence throughout Milwaukee. It joins the numerous other awards we've received in recognition of our sustainable design solutions for our clients.
