Sigma Helps Harley-Davidson Receive 2007 Business Friend of the Environment Award

The Sigma Group congratulates Harley-Davidson Motor Company on its prestigious Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award for outstanding achievements in environmental protection.
Sigma assisted Harley-Davidson in developing a comprehensive salvage and recycling plan during demolition for the new Harley-Davidson Museum. In advance of building the Museum at the east end of the Menomonee River Valley, Harley-Davidson Motor Company needed to clear the 20-acre site previously occupied by a variety of industrial uses dating back to the mid-1800s.
Harley-Davidson teamed with Sigma to plan and execute demolition by applying sustainable approaches to optimize asset recovery for reuse, salvage and recycling. The outcome not only reduced the volume of waste that would have otherwise been landfilled, but also provided valued resources at no cost to end users.
