Wispark, LLC : The Sigma GroupThe WISPARK, LLC North 2nd Street site is an approximate one-acre parcel located in downtown Milwaukee. Sigma provided professional engineering services related to the demolition of the multi-story Fortis Insurance building that occupied the project site, and the subsequent redevelopment of the site into a surface parking lot. Sigma’s scope of services included asbestos and hazardous materials inspections, bidding service and contract administration for the hazardous materials removal and building demolition work and performing the site engineering services associated with the site redevelopment.

Services provided by Sigma include:

Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Inspections Conducted pre-demolition asbestos and hazardous materials inspections of the Fortis Insurance Building in order to comply with applicable regulations pertaining to the characterization and management of asbestos and other hazardous building materials.

Demolition Planning, Bidding, & Contract Administration Prepared engineering plans and specifications for the asbestos removal, hazardous materials removal, building demolition and site demolition work. Bid all the work, administered the various contracts, and provided project monitoring and documentation services associated with the implementation of the work.

Civil/Site Engineering Prepared site design plans for grading, utilities, and paving work associated with the redevelopment of the site into a surface parking lot. The paving and grading plans included the use of pervious pavement as an innovative storm water management technology in order to obtain storm water management approval from the City of Milwaukee.

Surveying Services Conducted supplementary surveying services associated with establishing demolition removal limits and recording the locations of subsurface foundation remnants.
