Asbestos Management

Asbestos as a building material must be managed during the renovation and/or demolition process. Until the mid-1980's, asbestos was widely used in construction and commercial products including fireproofing, thermal insulation, soundproofing, brake linings, electrical wiring, floor and ceiling tiles, cement, and several thousand more building material products.

Sigma has a broad base of experience and knowledge which allows us to offer a comprehensive range of asbestos inspection and management services.

Asbestos Surveys and Inspections are performed by licensed and certified inspectors. Inspections and reports are often customized for renovation projects to best meet client objectives.

Asbestos Project Design/Plans and Specifications enable turn-key removal and contracting of abatement services.

Asbestos Project Management and Abatement Oversight Budgeting, bidding, contracting, abatement design and oversight, notification and reporting, and regulatory assistance.

Clearance and Air Monitoring In conjunction with the abatement contractor or as an independent third party, a determination on the effectiveness of the abatement work. Both qualitative and quantitative clearance determinations are provided.

Operation and Management Plan Development In certain circumstances abatement by removal of asbestos-containing materials is not feasible or warranted due to economic or other factors. To minimize exposure to asbestos-containing materials left in place, operation and management plans developed which specify cleanup protocol for small releases, periodic inspection and documentation, and training requirements.
